Domaine Lafond Roc-Épine is one of the Southern Rhône’s most respected organic producers, based in Tavel and farming their vineyards with a commitment to the land that shows clearly in the glass. This Côtes du Rhône is a classic Grenache-led blend — the kind of generous, characterful red that the Southern Rhône does better than almost anywhere else. The nose is wonderfully inviting, with ripe cherries, blackcurrant, and a lovely hint of sweet spice and garrigue that speaks of warm southern soils and long summer days. On the palate it’s deliciously soft and silky, with a lovely roundness, and those gorgeous fruit flavours linger on the finish for what seems like an age. Organic, elegant, and seriously good value at this price.
