From the celebrated Ried Kreuzkapelle single vineyard in Burgenland, this Grüner Veltliner from the talented Nittnaus brothers is a wonderfully expressive and site-specific white. The nose is fresh and inviting — green apple, white pepper, and citrus zest are lifted by a characteristic herbal note and a subtle mineral edge that speaks directly of the vineyard’s terroir. On the palate it’s crisp and focused, with a lovely textural weight, vibrant acidity, and that signature Grüner Veltliner white pepper spice running through to a clean, refreshing finish. A superb example of Austria’s greatest white grape variety from one of Burgenland’s most exciting producers.
