Serraboella shows you Nebbiolo’s perfume before its grip. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, then aged for 12–15 months in large barrels, it’s the more approachable of Fontanabianca’s two Barbarescos here. Elegance first, but there’s plenty underneath.
Raspberry compote, wild cherry, cinnamon and white pepper, with firm, polished tannins and bright acidity. Kerin O’Keefe gave it 96 points; Wine Enthusiast awarded 94, with James Suckling and Jeb Dunnuck both at 93. Delicious now, with the structure to reward some cellar time.
Six bottles in a wooden case. Only 10 cases available. One to open, and a few to forget about for a while.
