On the nose you get subtle but complex array of aromas, red fruits, blackcurrant, plum, with savoury herby notes (thyme and rosemary) too, and a floral, almost violet hint. On the palate, it’s medium in body, with a firm structure from well balanced tannins, fresh acidity, moderate alcohol and juicy berry fruit flavours. There’s a hint of spice from ageing in oak barrels. But, overall, it’s about the berry fruits, substantial but fine-textured tannins and long, juicy finish.
