Domaine Roy is a respected family estate in the appellation, and this Coteaux de Fontenay is sourced from a beautifully situated lieu-dit on the Right Bank, where the ancient marine fossil-rich soils impart that distinctive oyster shell and flint character that makes great Chablis so utterly unique. The 2024 is a lovely wine — pale gold in the glass, with a nose of green apple, lemon zest, and white blossom, underpinned by that signature gunflint minerality. On the palate it’s crisp, focused, and elegantly structured, with a laser-sharp acidity and a long, saline finish that lingers with real class.
