Barolo is the King of Italian wines — and Cascina Tetti’s Monsori is a beautiful example of why. Sourced from the Monsori vineyard in La Morra, one of Barolo’s most celebrated communes, known for producing wines of exceptional perfume and elegance rather than the more muscular, tannic style of Serralunga or Castiglione Falletto. La Morra’s Tortonian soils — rich in calcium carbonate and Helvetian clay — give the Nebbiolo here a distinctive floral lift and a silkier, more approachable character that makes this a wonderful entry point into serious Barolo. The 2020 vintage was outstanding across Piedmont, and this Monsori shows it: a perfumed, bright nose of red cherry, rose petal, and violet, with those classic hints of spice and tobacco that are the hallmark of great Nebbiolo. On the palate it’s structured yet elegant, with polished tannins, a fresh, vibrant acidity, and a long, persistent finish that speaks of both immediate pleasure and serious ageing potential.
